Great News and The Latest Lockdown Lowdown So Excited to tell you all that I've been very busy for the last six weeks, studying to become a MOE Foundation Certified Life Coach. The course was all held remotely ( which meant I was able to take part- Covid silver linings !), and It is recognised by the Association of Coaches. So happy to tell you that I passed today, so now I feel even better equipped to help you reach your goals! Peri-Menopause Zoom Groups I am also getting geared up to offer weekly, group, Peri-Menopause Zoom Sessions in the new Year. I am working on the format , so far it looks like it will be available for ten women to buy as a series of five sessions, covering many aspects of Peri-menopause, with some personal goals each week, a bit of homework, tons of info, and leaving you armed with knowledge and strategies to help you. Do let me know if you are interested in joining or if you have any ideas or queries here You will be the first to be notified when enrolment opens! Discovery Calls There is now a button on my website which allows you to book in for a Free Half Hour Discovery Call. We can discuss 1-1 Coaching, for general Wellness, or Peri-Post Menopause. Holistic Treatments As I am not able to do any Treatments until this crisis is over and we are all safe (don't worry tho, particularly if you have a voucher - I will be massaging again). Going forward I am focussing on the coaching side of my business, so my brand new website now reflects that. You can now purchase and book coaching sessions as well as pay in instalments! Fancy eh?! Lastly I want to Wish you all the Happiest of Christmas's, all be it under strange conditions. I hope you all stay well, go for some great walks with friends, eat, drink and be merry.
Here's to a seriously more fun and normal 2021. Much Love!

Don’t let your skin burn! I like to wear thin, loose, covering clothes over the skimpy things, rather than sunscreen, altho I do use some Neals Yard wild Rose sunscreen on my face: | No nasty chemicals, and smells amazing! I get prickly heat - an itchy rash, from non-natural sunscreen, as does my daughter. So it's a no-brainer to avoid it. Cold Aloe Vera Gel is the best after- sun, and I also keep my Neals Yard White Tea Facial mist in the fridge as an instant cooling moisture boost: |
Vitamin D is the great gift from Sunshine, we store it up in our bodies, through the skin's exposure to the suns rays, as well as from various food sources.
It’s paramount for good health, having a significant effect on the immune system, bone health, lowering cancer risk and being deficient has been linked to autoimmune disease. So let yours, and your kids skin see some sun for about half an hour a day before plastering on the sunscreen. Fill up your stores, to see you through the grey months. Keep well! XXX |

What About Wellness?
What About Wellness?

I thought I’d use the slightly contentious word “Wellness” as the basis for this blog post.
What it means to me, and why I have used it for my business name.
I struggled to find a new name for my business, I had a re-brand after gaining my qualification in Nutritional Therapy, and needed a name that would encompass all that I could offer, as well as take onto account future courses, and qualifications. Hence Emma Seville Complete Wellness.
Wellness can point to any facet of feeling good, the basics being: eating and sleeping well, moving well, not sitting, lifestyle choices such as not drinking too much alcohol and not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight etc. Stuff we all know about. As people start to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and keeping healthy, getting to the root cause of problems, or illness, rather than just taking a medical approach to fixing symptoms. Guidance from Wellness Professionals is becoming commonplace. The internet is peppered with ‘wellness professionals’. Some of which are personal trainers, or nutritionists. But I want to be able to offer a complete holistic approach.
My interest lies in helping people to feel as healthy and well as possible, through natural and holistic methods.
I have studied Biomechanics, and continue to learn about how our bodies move, the effects of movement, and lack of, natural and un -natural, and how to use restorative exercise to eliminate pain. I’d love to further my knowledge in this field.
The Nutrition course is a level 5 NVQ in Nutritional Therapy, and something I have always been interested in, for as long as I can remember. We are what we eat!

I have taken a short course in Mindfulness, something I feel passionate about, our state of mind is reflected in our bodies. Eventually I’d like to follow this up with a qualification.
Of course I have many holistic Therapy qualifications, and I’m booked on a remedial massage course -deep tissue massage, in September. As far as relaxation, a bit of ‘me time’ and time out, goes, you can’t beat a Holistic treatment.
I’m also saving up to do a course in Women’s hormonal Health Coaching, which is a fascinating subject, close to my heart! Through this I will gain more coaching skills.

All of this has come together so that I’m going to be offering Wellness Coaching. You can come to me if you feel overwhelmed, stuck in a bad habit rut, or under the weather. Or just want to feel energised, and rested, I will support you and work with you, giving you the tools you need to succeed.
My next few Blogs will be based on my own wellness habits, new and old. I’m no angel, but I am trying, and look forward to sharing my efforts.

Wellness Coaching coming Soon.
Spring offer, and other news.
Hello everyone,
I'm so excited to tell you. I will soon be offering Wellness Coaching!
It's almost ready for you folks. I'm working with a client right now, but need to get everything straight, and must decide on the how’s, costs and looks of it all. My head is buzzing with ideas and plans.
You will, as always be the first to know once it is all in place.

Spring is here and the little pear tree in the garden is in full bloom. I am slowly getting all the pots in the garden re-potted with bee friendly flowers, so the view from the treatment room will be as relaxing and uplifting as your treatments! The snow has sadly caused the demise of some old favourite plants, but Edie and I have spent a day at the garden centre and re-potting, soon it will be full of flowers again.
So therapeutic to get things tidy, and spend time moving outside, even if it was drizzling with rain.

The new Monstera, or Cheese Plant, is doing so well amongst all the positive energy in the treatment room (and a lot of TLC from me) that its unfurling a brand new leaf as I type.
It feels as if my business is doing the same, I have so many aspects of Wellness which I want to study. I really need to work on clarifying my ideas. A new skills swap may be underway soon to help me with this, which I will tell you all about as soon as I know more!
Do you receive health insurance through your work? If so check to see if there is a Wellness allowance, you can spend it on treatments from me!

Skills Swap
Hello Everyone!
With Spring in the air and some warmth in the sun, I’m feeling wonderfully positive.
Lately I’ve been thinking about finding ways to factor in some ’me’ time. Give myself some guilt free space, a long walk with friends now and again, making sure I squeeze in workout time four times a week, and just some more fun times!

Last year was the busiest yet for my business, and already this year I have treated some lovely new clients, and done a Facial course, so watch this space for news on Neal’s Yard Facials, (and sign up for my newsletter) coming soon! To those of you who have supported me thank you. | |
There can’t be many jobs as satisfying as my work as a holistic therapist. Seeing my clients transformed after a treatment, all signs of anxiety, stress, and worry erased from their faces and body language. Regular treatments promote a general sense of self care, and respect for one’s own wellbeing. This is what it’s all about for me.
I have met some seriously talented people along the way, who have been very happy to ‘Swap Skills’ with me. I have a wonderful website from Clever Hedgehog Design. Get my hair done by the lovely Louise Spencer. A fabulous new Logo design, with vouchers, cards and leaflets to match from the Uber Designer Helen Ward, and have had an incredible ‘Hypno Holiday’ from the incredible Lucy Fey, and I’ve eaten some delicious food from The Eating Room, in return for seated back massage (at Floriography and the Healing courtyard every Monday)
Even my daughter got in on the act with ‘Singing Tree’ music lessons from the kindest teacher in the world, Molly Parry Jones.

All of these things are so much more special partly because I couldn’t afford them otherwise! But also because there is a sense of a gift being given and received when money doesn’t change hands. Of course the act of giving makes us feel good, and the whole process adds to a sense of community and inclusion, and often leads to great friendships.
The deal is worked out on a cost for cost basis, both parties need to feel it is completely fair. For a growing business it makes for great advertising too, each person I treat hopefully leaves here, bumps into a friend, or tells their work colleagues or clients about a great experience with Emma Seville Complete Wellness.
So this Year, if you have skills set you could exchange, give it a go! You will probably want to test the water first, to experience or view each other’s work. It makes for positive human interactions, and we all need as many as possible of those!

Autumn Is Here!
Beat those Autumn blues.
There is no denying it, summer is over, and didn’t it end quickly. I love the summer, being outside makes me so happy. Being warm, long days, light, happy smalls playing in the park.
It’s all too easy to batten down the hatches and stay inside once the nights draw in and the weather doesn’t play ball.
It’s all too easy to batten down the hatches and stay inside once the nights draw in and the weather doesn’t play ball.
But what effect does this have on us?
We all know that going out for a walk in the woods or green space has a positive effect on out mental health. It makes us feel less stressed and more relaxed. This is due to lowered cortisol levels, and blood pressure. Then there’s the reduction in technostress, from being away from computers, mobile phones (dare you to leave it at home!), and the ever present Wi-Fi.
A little fact for you: There are chemicals that trees excrete to ward off bugs and rot. Did you know that these chemicals are called Phytoncides? These Phytoncides interact with us in ways that do our bodies good.
As well as giving us oxygen of course. Living in the city and breathing in fresh air is such a joy.

What are you looking at?
Changing the view is also good for our eyes, letting your gaze focus on ‘far away’ lets the most frequently used muscles in your eyes relax and uses others to help you focus.
Walking on bumpy natural surfaces, especially in flat, flexible soled shoes that let you feel the ground, is great for proprioception, helping your brain stay alert to your surroundings and how they directly affect you. Keeping this part of the brain working will minimize the risks of falling over, especially in old age. Don't forget to look after your feet. Reflexology may help the body heal itself, and is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. Book a session with me Check out more on this https://nutritiousmovement.com/about/ |
These are just a few of the myriad of positive effects gained from getting outside for a good walk, run, or cycle, borrow a dog, take the kids out, listen to the birds, take a deep breath. Just don’t let the weather stop you!
