I am so excited to now be offering Deep Tissue Massage!
I have always enjoyed the remedial side of Holistic Massage. Deep Tissue takes that into a whole other world of Bodywork. I have learn a ton about Fascia, Muscle bellies, Trigger points, Attachments.. the list goes on.. And it all means I’m now eager and equipped to help you all in new ways!
So, what can you expect from a Deep Tissue Massage? As always, if you haven’t been before I will do a fifteen minute consultation, or if you have, a brief chat, to find out about problem areas. Then we will discuss the treatment and choose your Neals Yard massage oil blend. Then you get yourself comfortable on the couch, whilst I leave the room to wash my hands, re-entering once you are ready.
The body tenses up if pressure is applied too quickly, so the treatment begins with some deep breaths, followed by gentle fascia work, to help unstick any adhesions, and relax you and your fascia. From there we move on to releasing any tight, knotted areas. Slowly working deeper, only to a point where you feel comfortable and the sensation is welcome ‘good pain’. Using a variety of techniques.
For maximum benefit you would have four to six weekly sessions to sort out stubborn problems, with monthly sessions to keep on top of them.
Learning this has opened up a whole world of new knowledge to me, and I’m enthused to learn more!
