What About Wellness?

What About Wellness?

I thought I’d use the slightly contentious word “Wellness” as the basis for this blog post.
What it means to me, and why I have used it for my business name.

I struggled to find a new name for my business, I had a re-brand after gaining my qualification in Nutritional Therapy, and needed a name that would encompass all that I could offer, as well as take onto account future courses, and qualifications. Hence Emma Seville Complete Wellness.

Wellness can point to any facet of feeling good, the basics being: eating and sleeping well, moving well, not sitting, lifestyle choices such as not drinking too much alcohol and not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight etc. Stuff we all know about. As people start to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and keeping healthy, getting to the root cause of problems, or illness, rather than just taking a medical approach to fixing symptoms. Guidance from Wellness Professionals is becoming commonplace. The internet is peppered with ‘wellness professionals’. Some of which are personal trainers, or nutritionists. But I want to be able to offer a complete holistic approach.

My interest lies in helping people to feel as healthy and well as possible, through natural and holistic methods.

I have studied Biomechanics, and continue to learn about how our bodies move, the effects of movement, and lack of, natural and un -natural, and how to use restorative exercise to eliminate pain. I’d love to further my knowledge in this field.

The Nutrition course is a level 5 NVQ in Nutritional Therapy, and something I have always been interested in, for as long as I can remember. We are what we eat!

I have taken a short course in Mindfulness, something I feel passionate about, our state of mind is reflected in our bodies. Eventually I’d like to follow this up with a qualification.

Of course I have many holistic Therapy qualifications, and I’m booked on a remedial massage course -deep tissue massage, in September. As far as relaxation, a bit of ‘me time’ and time out, goes, you can’t beat a Holistic treatment.

I’m also saving up to do a course in Women’s hormonal Health Coaching, which is a fascinating subject, close to my heart! Through this I will gain more coaching skills.

All of this has come together so that I’m going to be offering Wellness Coaching. You can come to me if you feel overwhelmed, stuck in a bad habit rut, or under the weather. Or just want to feel energised, and rested, I will support you and work with you, giving you the tools you need to succeed.

My next few Blogs will be based on my own wellness habits, new and old. I’m no angel, but I am trying, and look forward to sharing my efforts.
